What is HHC?
Roger Adams discovered HHC in the 1940s. He altered the physical properties of THC by adding hydrogen. An early patent document describes the process of hydrogenation.
Delta 9 THC undergoes hydrogenation by substituting two hydrogen atoms for a double bond, which changes its molecular weight and makes it more stable. HHC has a longer shelf life and is less susceptible to damage caused by UV light and heat after hydrogenation, which Mark Scialdone, BR Brands Chief Science Officer, asserts.
Will HHC show up in a drug test?
HHC does not appear to break down as readily in the body as THC. There is some evidence that HHC does not break down into 11-hydroxy-THC, which is what many drug panels test for, unlike delta-8, delta-9, and delta-10 forms of THC.
